In the world of
supplements, chondroitin sulfate is well-known for its
care of cartilage and disc in Oxford back pain.
Its reputation keeps growing for influence
on specific spinal issues from cancer to knee osteoarthritis
to cells and nerves. New research demonstrates positive effects on diabetes and its
related osteoporosis and inflammation. Satterwhite Chiropractic
reports on these new studies to help our
Oxford chiropractic back pain as well as diabetic patients.
CHONDROITIN SULFATE: Diabetes and Inflammation
Chondroitin sulfate is a powerhouse potential
for diabetes in addition to disc nutrition. It is reported that it can
decrease blood glucose and reduce symptoms
associated with diabetes. In new studies, it
relieved diabetic osteoporosis and mended
the microstructure of bone via its anti-oxidative,
anti-inflammatory, and bone metabolism-regulating features in
diabetic rats. The research studies keep coming! One
of the latest reports that these outcomes were
obtained after 10 weeks of consuming chondroitin
sulfate, and serum inflammatory cytokines (TNF-A, IL-1, IL-6, MCP-1)
reduced. (1) Part of the chiropractic treatment plan at
Satterwhite Chiropractic is nutrition. The use of chondroitin
sulfate is showing benefit that Oxford chiropractic
patients may appreciate.
CHONDROITIN SULFATE: Diabetic Osteoporosis
In another study of oral chondroitin sulfate and
whether it has anti-diabetic properties, chondroitin sulfate was
taken for 2 months. Preventive properties were
demonstrated. It helped improve the symptoms of
diabetes by raising body weight, decreasing
water or food intake, lowering blood glucose,
increasing bone mineral density (BMD), repairing bone morphology
and decreasing femoral osteoclasts. These benefits
initiated the researchers to write that chondroitin sulfate
could avert diabetic osteoporosis through the
reduction of blood glucose along with
antioxidative stress, anti-inflammation, and regulation of serum levels of
OPG/RANKL. In conclusion, they stated that
chondroitin sulfate can capably avert bone loss
brought on by diabetes. (2) Satterwhite Chiropractic
presents this research as a hopeful option for our
Oxford chiropractic patients with osteoporosis.
